As at May 2017, the number of employers who met their duties for auto enrolment and who completed their statement of Compliance was 598,126, with just under 7 million workers automatically enrolled and a further 10 million already in schemes.
There are still employers to stage over the next 12 months and we are still assisting employers through this process, although the number of employees in each company involved is decreasing.
The next step for employers is the three year anniversary for re-enrolment declarations where employers have to:
- Re-assess the workforce.
- Identify staff that require to be enrolled into the scheme, (this may include employees who opted out the first time and if still want to opt out, will require to go through the process again).
- Complete a re-declaration of compliance to advise Pensions Regulator that they have met their duties.
Again correspondence with your workforce is key and if we were involved with assisting you the first time round, then our administration and payroll team here at Johnston Smillie will help you with this process.
If you have any queries regarding the above or require any further information, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
